About Purple Laces Month

Who We Are

Purple Laces Month for Epilepsy WA is an initiative run by a team from the John Curtin Leadership Academy (JCLA) in collaboration with Epilepsy WA.

The JCLA team comprises of 7 Curtin University students (pictured) from different disciplines collaborating on a year-long project for a non-profit cause. Our passion for the issue of epilepsy stems from our discovery of how misunderstood and widespread the condition still is - and we hope to help resolve this!

Using our passion and skills, we hope to inform and empower the WA community - especially our fellow students - to contribute towards this cause.

Our Aim

Through Purple Laces Month, we are aiming to raise $5,000 in funds to help sustain the many Epilepsy WA support groups enabling people living with epilepsy to live their lives to the fullest.

We are also hoping to raise general community awareness about the oft-misunderstood condition of epilepsy, and the fantastic work of Epilepsy WA in addressing it.
